What To Expect From First Site on Move-In Day

what-to-expect-first-site-move-in-day

Well, it’s official. You’ve signed the lease, picked up the keys, and have started loading your car with all the essentials of living the college life. You’ve been waiting for so long to move out of your parents' house, or that dorm you’ve been trapped in for the last two years.

But with moving OUT comes moving IN.

Moving is a stressful time—you never know what to expect or how it’ll go. It could be a breeze or a complete nightmare. You’ve been doing it the last two years for college, so packing everything up should be second nature.

Having an assigned move-in time makes things harder, too. After all, who wants to come all the way to Normal at 8 a.m. on a Tuesday morning to haul everything into your new space?

Luckily, because we aim to provide award-winning customer service, you can move into your apartment at your leisure with First Site, provided it is your move-in date or past it. We've even allowed early move-in in certain circumstances.

Here’s a little taste of what you can expect on move-in day with us!

1. Getting Your Keys!

The first step of this process is, FINALLY, getting your keys. Even if you go with all of your roommates, we promise it won’t be a long process. A signature here or there on the forms and you’re ready to go! You’ll receive a notification in advance of when your “Move-In Date” is, so be sure to come on the right day at the right time!

If you can’t make that specific date, there’s no reason to worry. You can always come pick up your keys at a later time when it’s convenient for you.

2. The Policy Handbook: Just A Reminder

Once you’ve gotten your keys, we’ll sit down with you and other new residents and give you a little information on some of the policies each complex has. These can differ by location, so it’s important you pay attention during this portion of the move-in process. If you need a refresher on your lease, your parking allowances, or the guidelines, we have you covered.

3. Our Staff Members Will Meet You At Your Apartment

To help you find your apartment, our staff members will assist you in locating your new home. Don’t hesitate to ask for help if you need it!

4. Settling In To Your New Home

Once you’ve gotten the keys, reviewed the guidelines, and found your unit, it’s finally time to pack everything inside of it!

Family, friends, and others are invited to assist you in this process, and you can expect someone from the leasing team to come through to answer any questions you may have.

We wish you luck on your move-in with First Site! If you have questions, feel free to contact the leasing office at 309-888-4444.
